Pflegegeld supports people who need help with daily activities and are cared for at home by family or friends. Paid monthly based on Pflegegrad (care level 2–5). You apply at your Pflegekasse, which is part of your Krankenkasse.

1 Contact Your Pflegekasse

Call or visit your Krankenkasse and request a Pflegegrad assessment. They will send the application form.

2 Complete the Application

Fill out the form describing your daily care needs in detail.

3 MDK Assessment Visit

An expert from MDK or MEDICPROOF will visit to assess your care level (Pflegegrad 1–5).

4 Receive Decision

The Pflegekasse sends a written decision. If you disagree, you have 4 weeks to file an objection.

5 Payments Begin

Monthly Pflegegeld is paid from the first day of the month you applied.
